Episode 2 - Blame Sydney!

Above: Blame Sydney (not all current members) playing a house show in the middle of the woods in Gainesville, FL. It's a long story. This week, I interviewed Tink Edwards, the vocalist of local ska-punk band Blame Sydney! We talk about some of the bands most memorable shows (both good and bad) some interesting song writing methods, and what’s on the horizon for the group. Blame Sydney! has been playing their unique style of ska-punk wherever someone will let them all across the Southeast since 2008. They have shared the stage with ska legends The Toasters at the Masquerade in Atlanta as well as having played with Marcy Playground, known for the 1997 single "Sex and Candy." They've come a long way since their first show at Hot Topic in the Opelika Mall, and won't be stopping any time soon. For a quick three song introduction to their sound, Edwards recommends (in this order) - "Moose Gun," to jump right in to their unique style and irreverent sense of humor, "Searching," for a bit of an edgier vibe, and the always positive "Just Stand Still." To hear a selection of their songs, visit them at ReverbNation. You can also find all of their tracks available for purchase on iTunes. For more information, visit their Facebook.
